Reliable dual-socket board with plenty of features
This board is a GREAT alternative to the ASRock boards that have been swept up by enthusiasts trying to build high core count computers/servers, as I have. Quad-channel memory support with 16 slots for DDR3 ECC RAM. The board has tons of SATA connetions, though only a few are the higher speed connections. I put a GeForce GTX 970 in the only PCIe x16 slot, and I have left the other 5 PCIe x8 slots unoccupied for now. A major downside is the lack of integrated audio, so I will be getting an audio card. The board is a SSI EEB form-factor board, so it will not fit in ATX or mini-ATX cases. I went with a Phanteks EEB case, and it fits well although there is no I/O cover for the back of the case. No big deal. The dual gigabit ethernet ports are a nice bonus, though I'm not sure what I would use the second one for. Be prepared to reset the CMOS/BIOS/whatever and do a bit of tinkering with the settings. After a little head-scratching, I got the board to run flawlessly with two sandybridge Xeons and Windows 10 Pro.
Received the 8 RAM modules, tested and all work great at the advertised speed. These work great with the other 8 modules I purchased elsewhere. These modules are FOR SERVERS ONLY, as they are ECC ram modules. These sticks do not have fancy heat sinks like some enthusiast-grade modules, but they dont need them. The aluminum shielding dissipates heat perfectly on my setup. Stable and reliable operation for one month now. Would recommend for those with large memory needs.
