Very good resolution and capability for reasonable cost.
After reading many reviews, I found this unit is the value leader. It has the higher resolution needed to make good use of the technology. There is a enclosed model available that comes with a display screen, but I chose this attachable version because I can hold the display and camera in the same direction (the model with the built in display has to be held horizontally, so it isn't as functional for me). This item seems to work well, although I have not gotten a chance to try it in the field yet to see how far it can really detect heat and be able to discern animals from people, etc. I wish the connector was slightly longer to attach to my iPhone with phone case in place. I ended up filing down the phone case a little so that the unit can make a solid connection.

Works well. Slim fit. Excellent protection.
Every since I had a broken phone after using a case from another popular case maker, I take no more chances and only use the drop tested and field proven Tech21 case for all my phones now. Why spend close to $1,000 on a phone and chance it with an unreliable case? Not me. I'm careful with my phones, but have managed to drop them on occasion. None of them ever broke when protected with a Tech21 case (and reasonable screen protector like Bulletshield). The only time my phone broke was when I used another case brand, and it was only a slight drop of under 3 feet, when the phone slipped from my hands and fell onto the smooth but hard flat marble floor while in my hotel room. The Tech21 case is not as bulky as other cases, yet it affords superior protection in my experience.
