rugged construction, good value
to be fair, I did not purchase this compass for hiking, it's primary function is to align my satellite antennas and assist with radio direction finding tasks. I was pleasantly surprised to see how rugged it is with solid all metal construction. It is heavier and larger than I expected - which is a good thing to me since my old, lighter weight lensatic compass broke in multiple places and the larger dial on this unit is easier to read, stabilizes faster, and is easier to level out. I'm not sure I have a use for the height gauge, but it's there if I ever need it. I would say it's a little heavy and bulky for hiking, but for me it's a great unit at a great value.

Great adapter cable
This is the perfect adapter cable to use my existing Yaesu 897 desk mic with my new ICOM IC-910D. It saves me a ton of desk space (and some $) not having to have 2 mic's. The local guys on the repeater say the audio quality is awesome. I'm really happy with this product after having used it for the past 2 weeks.
