Not suitable for clipping sheep wool
The shears aren't suitable for sheep wool nor do they come with access to spare blades. They look like they would do the job their intended for but unfortunately they get knotted when using on sheep wool, especially clipping out when trying to get a close shave in the event of a blow-fly strike. Also tried on softer lamb wool but found they still won't clip out. It was thought that with the thumb clipping action they may be safer and quicker than dagging shears when clipping near to the skin thus avoiding a nick to the sheep/lambs skin causing unnecessary undue suffering. So for the purpose I intended to use them for their not fit for that purpose even though the description states they would be suitable. They were bought for the purpose of clipping out small areas prior to treatment in a open field single capture and treatment scenario.

Am-Tech Pocket Diamond Sharpener
1 of 1 found this helpful This is the best designed pocket sharpener I have ever used, with just a few strokes on any dull or blunted blade sheep shears, scissors, pocket knifes, or even pruning shears makes the items as sharp as the day they were bought, also because its a diamond sharpener it can be used either with water or equally dry and with its long fold away sheath that also provides protection keeping your fingers away from the blade being sharpened. A very clean innovative design and so cost effective.
