Great Compromise in an easy price!
Okay, some back story. I was just introduced to pickleball a month ago by my brother. He had a couple of the low-end, basic paddles, and also had some of the pricier composite models. I didn't like the grips on the low-end ones...if you're just fiddling around for fun, they work, but they felt too flat and odd to grip, in my hand. After playing a few times, I decided I should get my own paddle, so I wasn't reliant on someone else providing gear every time I wanted to play.
But I'm not good enough to warrant spending 40-60 dollars or more on equipment for a game I only play once a week for an hour. I wanted something affordable, with a comfortable grip. And I'll admit, I was skeptical when I first saw this. But I'm very satisfied with what I got.
The bad? It's smaller than the basic, cheap paddles. It's slightly heavier than the composite paddles (which, if you're used to those, can be a problem in that you end up hitting with more force for a while, and if you're playing hard, those extra ounces add up over time). Because the paddle is wood, it's not as 'springy' as composite paddles...the ball feels deceptively dead coming off the paddle, which can also lend itself to overhitting.
The good is, obviously, the price. After shopping around for an affordable paddle that didn't have the flattened handle of the hobby-player paddles and finding nothing that I could get for less than the cost of a full tank of gas, this looked pretty good. I also like that the handle and grip are similar to a tennis or racquetball racket grip...it feels good in your hand. It took a LOT of getting used to, after having played for a couple of weeks with a composite paddle...but by the third or fourth game, I was playing as well with it as I ever had with the more expensive paddle (and I actually won the fifth game, although that may have been more due to attrition and heat exhaustion than anything the paddle did for my game.)
But it's a good, affordable, more competitive style racket and if you've played racquetball for any appreciable length of time, the paddle's going to feel very familiar after a few minutes.

Great for the price, but...
8 of 12 found this helpful Not exactly what it bills itself as. It says, right on the outside of the package, that it is a 1:1 replica, although they don't specify of what, but the closest model is the Barrett M82. It's smaller than that. It's still a good size, light and easy to handle. Looking at the picture, I think it's supposed to come with a laser sight (built into the 'scope', which is only a mockup...you can't even see through it) and a tactical light...mine came with a second laser sight (if I could get a third, I could possibly rig up the 'Predator triangle' laser target...*grin*)--both of the laser sights that come with it work (I had to replace a corroded battery in the smaller one, but otherwise, no problems). But I bought it to use as a prop, not an airsoft weapon. And, as a prop, it's not the match that it claims to be.
Aside from that detail, however, I have no complaints about it at all. It's a cheap airsoft gun, but as cheap airsoft guns go, it looks good and gets the job done.

Just what I needed
1 of 1 found this helpful I came to the Rock Band craze late...like, just a couple of months before Nintendo stopped supporting the Wii console. The good news for that is, I've been able to put together a pretty nice set-up with thrift-store purchases (forget buying a guitar on eBay when you can find one at the thrift store for $5!)
But I ended up with a bass from a Beatles Rock Band game...and it didn't work with any of the dongles I had. Turns out, they were all from the original Rock Band, and starting with RB2, they added a bunch of features to the guitars that needed a different dongle. So, the bass sat, useless to me, until I remembered to look on here for the right dongle.
Now, granted, you can play the bass parts on a regular guitar for the game. But when you're playing with a group of friends at a party, it's fun to have the specific instruments for the parts. So, yes, I was very pleased with my results on this purchase!
