Map update from V6 to V9 sorted!
This SD, when popped into the on-dash reader, took approx 90mins to install onto the 64 plate Tiguans HD. No delays, no crashes, no pauses. Loaded perfectly. Works fine. Version number is showing on the sublevel screen on the RNS315 unit.
Very pleased.
Saved about £150 which is what VW quoted as minimum for install ....even though they could not clarify which was the latest map that would work..... Easy purchase and reliable SD transfer.

Quality item
Better quality than expected. Metal a good sized glass optics. Fits my Kx perfick! Now if only the flippin moon would come out!

Porsche 986. Good fit, slightly too much mid range
These are fitted into the existing Porsche BoxsterS '04 dash locations.
I shredded the original cones which were in poor condition, and kept the mounting element of the basket to be able to mount these into and then use the original baskets to connect perfectly to the dash. This meant gluing the new speakers into the baskets. Simple stuff, just be gentle with the original bracket.
Once fitted into the dash, I feel that the sound is a little harsher thannthe original Haes speakers. Flattened the bass and treble and it's a little mid rangey for my liking. It may settle down with a bit of time. It could also be due to the fact that the majority of sound reflects off the windscreen back into the cabin so perhaps it's an acoustic thing based on glass etc. I'm a recording musician so I'm a but fussy about all this stuff so maybe it's just me. I'm installing a new head unit with 13 band eq so hopefully able to cut the offending mid freqs and settle on a better balance.
