Great engine for the price, u can't go wrong with it.
4 of 4 found this helpful Really good engine for the price, it has tons of power, very reliable. The only draw back is the pull starter, they break easy, so if u plan on using the pull start, I would advise cracking the glow plug loose when u start to lessen some of the compression and tighten back up once a little warm, not hot. I put this engine on a fully aluminum Tmax and its almost uncontrollable, made it a wheelie machine. It also holds a good tune, but it does like to run rich, and idle a little high.

Bad design.
Bad design, if u convert to a big block nitro, you have to have a better primary shaft machined out of a harder steel. I had one machined out of tool steel, has held up nice. The stock Traxxas primary shaft always breaks where the pin holes are drilled. Not a very strong steel. Although the two speed clutch holds up just fine.
