The bamboo lid fit snuggly and compliment the wood handles of the Chemex flask.
The original lid for the Chemex was a glass lid which blended in with the glass Chemex flask. I didn't see it and started pouring my coffee and the glass lid came off and shattered on my counter top.
With this bamboo lid it is visible, which made it obvious that it needed to be removed before pouring the coffee, besides should it drop on the counter it wouldn't shatter.
