Talking Heads - Stop Making Sense
After watching this incredible concert-movie, you can't help but be impressed by how hard David Byrne and the rest of the band work and have fun at the same time. My favorite parts are the dialogues between David & the backup singers on 'Slippery People', the band jogging & dancing through 'Life During Wartime' & the fun offhandedness of the Talking Heads splinter-group 'Tom-Tom Club' cover 'Genius of Love.' A+

    Just OK
There are a couple very good parts to this movie (at or near the beginning) but the rest is boring. I can't understand why when I'm looking up favorite movies of mine, 'Glengarry Glen Ross' always shows up as 'related videos that I may want to watch' but it's nothing like the movies I watch. One disclaimer, if you are a Salesperson or in Sales, you would probably love this movie, or would love your Sales Team to watch it. If only for the Alec Baldwin speech. And then go bowling or something else.

    The Beginning of a Legend
I Love The Band. I was less than a year old when 'Music From Big Pink' was released, so I've had to get into their stuff after the fact. And right now, they hold my highest regard of any band. Their music all sounds like they want it not only to tell a story, but to SOUND like that story, with the timbre of the music. This album starts out with a bang, cool sounding guitar & the huge voice of one of their vocalists, Richard Manuel, singing, nee pleading out the words of a very emotional song. There are many great songs on this album, including their most famous song, 'The Weight.' I also really like the song 'Chest Fever' which is carried by Garth Hudson's marvelous Organ, and adds a short goofy section, just so they can come out powerful again. The album ends on a fantastic Bob Dylan number, 'I Shall Be Released', which was a regular for The Band. And incidentally, the 2nd to the last song they ever played together on stage (see The Last Waltz - 1976.)
