Not quite the same...
The RMT-D165A did not have all the functions of the original RM-ASPOO1 as advertised. For example, while the RMT-D165A did turn the DVP-CX995V on and off and did scan the currently selected disc, it would not advance to the next disc, nor would it go back to the previous disc. Thus, it has limited value.
