START UP TIME CONSUMING AND ANNOYING WITH NO SOUND
This particular Acer Aspire 3 has a number of problems that I try to overlook. Every time I sit to work and turn the system on ... I worry that it will not start. Starting the system has caused me hours of angst and seeking assistance from the internet. Unfortunately, taking the machine apart as recommended on YouTube was not within my skill level. Then I shook the machine -- I am 84 so the shake was not extreme and suddenly in started to recycle, looking for updates, installing updates and finally it started up. That discouraged me from ever actually turning it off either by button or my command. Troublesome. Sound is all but not available. Apparently, the process of restoring the device was not very thorough. I had feared that originally. I have neither time nor finances for a new machine; so, for the short run I will continue ...
