Looks like a toy; works like a professional radio.

I've owned a pair of these for several years bought from a big-box store. Used the pair to successfully communicate car-to-car over a half mile or so separation. Bought these two additional radios to loan all four to a friend. Nice little radio ; looks like a toy; works like a pro. Too bad they're no longer in production.

Old or counterfeit Prolific Chip

I cannot recommend this cable. The cable I received contains an old or counterfeit USB to Serial converter I.C.. It will work with old Prolific drivers on Win XP, Win 7 and or Win 8/8.1 but NOT on Win 10 due to automatic updating.
