Great solution for bad old tuners
I bought these to replace the awful trapezoid-shaped tuners on an early-90s Korean Squier neck. The original holes did need to be reamed slightly to fit. Normally I'd count that as a negative, but these tuners are so nice I don't care. Staggered height got rid of the string trees, and because they're locking, they stay in tune even with heavy whammy bar use. Completely smooth, and no slop or lash. I think I'll be putting these in other guitars too!

Great Esquire electronics!
I put this in a homebrew Esquire with a Zhangbucker Paul Bunyan pickup (basically a moderately hot standard Tele bridge pickup). The construction was fantastic, the installation was a breeze, and it sounds terrific in all positions. The ability to do a normal Tele kind of tone with the tone and volume backed off a bit, and then just switch to total bypass, makes for a lot of flexibility compared to the usual Tele setup.

arguably the best season
2 of 2 found this helpful Deep Space Nine season 6 is arguably the best story arc in Star Trek history. By now, the Federation and the Klingons are deep at war with the Dominion and Cardassia, leading to both epic battles and epic drama. It has some of the high points of the show for me... Gal Dukat's descent into madness (the climax of years of character development), Sisko's semi-conscious complicity in betrayal and murder for the greater good, Worf and Dax's wedding. Wonderful stuff! Star Trek unfortunately missed the modern story arc model perfected by later writers like Joss Whedon and J. Michael Strazynski, but the writers did what they could with the rich characters, despite the inherently episodic tendencies of the show. In a way, this season reminds me of season 3 of TOS, when the Kirk/Spock/McCoy thing was so well-fleshed that the writers could build lots of depth into the episodes.
