for the money, it's an excellent value

A good older radio
It's certainly much higher quality than the Baofeng junk that has flooded western shores lately!
For dusk or night-time use, it just can't be beat, which is why I bought this 2m version. The backlit keys are just great! One of the very few older HT's to have this obviously-needed feature. My first radio I ever bought after I got my Ham ticket was the ADI AT-401 440MHz, and I loved it.
No complaints with this radio. The instruction manual has some very strange syntax, but it's perfectly readable and available on-line.
The -201 doesn't have the long reach of the older Kenwood TH series, but it's perfectly good. Battery packs may be hard to come by now that The NiCAD Lady is out of business, but you can rebuild your own with NiMH batts fairly cheaply.
I like it, what more can I say?

Without equal
3 of 3 found this helpful I can only echo the reviews of this superb calculator. For 24 years the HP-42S has been an indispensable part of my job- I simply couldn't function without it, nor could many other engineers I know. This calculator is also "industrial Heavy-duty", in that it will take damage which would destroy other calcs instantly. The HP-42S was truly one of the foundations of the American Aerospace industry from 1988 until it was discontinued. I wouldn't sell mine for controlling shares in Microsoft!!
