Miele Classic C1 Turbo Team Canister Vacuum Cleaner 1200W
    Nov 20, 2023
Entry level Miele is affordable and works as well as higher end models
This is the sixth Miele vacuum I bought for myself and others over a 30-year period. It is my preferred vacuum brand. The Classic C1 is considered an entry level Miele and is priced accordingly. That makes it much more affordable than some of the higher-end models. Despite being a cheaper model, it has features I most prize in a Meile. The suction is powerful, the dirt-catching bag eliminates dust blow back, the versatile attachments make cleaning nooks and crannies easy. This particular model is extremely lightweight and easy to transport. The powerhead works fine on carpets, but is not as good at deep cleaning those on some of the higher-end models. Since I have very little carpeting, this model is fine for me. The one con is the short electric cord. To completely vacuum any room in my house, I am required to turn off the vacuum, unplug it, move it to a different outlet, turn it on again and continue. In larger rooms, such as the living room, I have to move the plug two or three times. Using a heavy duty extension cord with it would solve the issue.
Refurbished Dell Tower Desktop Computer PC Core 2 Duo 3.0Ghz 8GB 1TB Win 7 WIFI

Excellent Value But Be Prepared to Troubleshoot
This refurbished Dell boots quickly and has plenty of speed and power to suit my home business needs. It is used primarily for word processing, online research, and email. My gamer son says it can handle online gaming, but hard-core gamers will want to upgrade the video card. Set-up out of the box was so easy. Too easy. Some things had to go wrong. Be aware that you will have 30 days to activate Windows 7 after you set up the PC. During the initial set-up, you will be asked if you want to activate automatically when you go online. I selected "yes." However, Windows 7 was not automatically activated when I went online. I had to right click on My Computer, select properties and then activate Windows manually. The bundled Netis WiFi USB adapter is useless. After inserting it in the USB port and installing the software from the CD, it did nothing. I had to buy a NetGear WiFi USB adapter. The NetGear found my home WiFi network immediately and made connecting simple. The CD-ROM is finicky and does not recognize all of my CD's for software installation. I was able to install only three of the five programs I use regularly. Two of the disks read as blanks. These are commercial software programs on official CD's that can be read by my laptop. Windows 7 Update got hung up searching for updates, but would not update. I left the PC running all night and nothing. Still searching. The problem was resolved by going to the Microsoft download center and downloading and installing KB3102810. Thereafter, 150 or so updates were installed and the Windows 10 upgrade icon appeared. Windows 10 installed smoothly. However, after the upgrade, there was an issue with the rear speaker port. Using Device Manager to update the driver by browsing for drivers on my computer and selecting the generic driver solved that issue. I have not tried adding a microphone, but I know some people need to follow the same procedure for microphone issues after a Win 10 upgrade. In conclusion, this is an excellent value: quality hardware at a great low price. If you don't plan on upgrading to Windows 10, you'll have fewer issues. Be prepared for some troubleshooting either way. If you are not mildly to moderately tech savvy, you might want to pass on this PC.
