My favorite shifters
The thumb shifting is fantastic for butterfly handlebars. Always easy to reach.
Friction shifting is the smoothest and you won’t need to adjust your gearing much since there is no indexing to worry about - so won’t have to worry so much about barrel adjustment, derailer alignment, etc.
These do have an indexing option but I strongly recommend trying out friction mode. You’ll never go back … The front derailer shifter has micro-adjustment friction, so you never have to worry about rubbing again. These are durable shifters and will probably last you a lifetime.
I also have another pair of the same for a 2x10 system. These are my go-to shifters for bike builds.
