Great way to quickly adapt laptop for desktop use
Sometimes I need to use my work laptop at home, but I don't like using the track pad for extended sessions, and the laptop monitor is too small.
My cube at work is fitted with this exact same model docking station (aka "e port replicator"), and so I went to eBay to find a cheap one for home use. I didn't want to ask my employer to buy me a new one, although I suppose they would have paid for it.
So this Dell Pro3x docking station really fits the bill. Just like at work, it only takes a second to pop the laptop onto the docking station and I'm ready to go -- no need to spend minutes connecting mouse and monitor.
Be aware that this purchased did not include the power cord --or any other cords for that matter. Still, very good price for a perfectly usable docking station!
