20L Commercial Deep Fryer w/ Timer and Drain Fast Food French Frys Electric
Jun 11, 2017
Okay while it lasts
I used this fryer for a weekend market, close to 6-7 hours at a time, and only used for 8 days/4 weekends. The fryer at max temperature only goes up to 360-370 degrees F, even though the dial says 390 F. I've checked consistently with a thermometer. Which means if you want something perfectly crisped, which anyone knows is 360 degrees, you better make sure the fryer is completely at max temperature. Frying things with some moisture consecutively, like 3-4 spiral potatoes one or two at a time, will dramatically lower the temperature and force you to wait a few minutes before oil is back to optimum temperature. Then, on the Sunday of this fourth weekend, the right side fryer stopped heating. The power light would be on, but the heat light would be off even though the temperature of the oil is not where the dial says it should be. I didn't realize this until the potato I was frying just wouldn't crisp. I stuck a thermometer in there and sure enough, the temperature was at 250 degrees F when it should've been at 360, max temperature on the dial. None of the cables look damaged, and besides turning it off and on, or plugging and unplugging, there is nothing else I can do. Overall, I definitely wouldn't recommend if you're planning on using the deep fryer at least ten times. This fryer is definitely not commercial, though it looks like it is. Side notes, when fryer first arrived, one of the heat coils was missing a screw that secured some metal pieces. I didn't think much of it; only tightened the screw on the other side so the whole piece wouldn't fall off. This fryer fits almost perfectly a full 35LB container of oil split between both fryers with some left over. The drain is useful, but there is at least a quart of oil left at the bottom of the well that can not drain out unless you tilt the fryer.
