If you haven't heard of them, now is your chance!
Before a couple of months ago, the Polysics could have been one of any number of bands out there in the world that I could have cared less whether I heard or not... That's until I actually heard some of their songs online. If you give this album or "Polysics or Die," you will wonder how you missed out on them. They state that their main influence is Devo and perhaps if Devo was formed today, they would sound much like the Polysics, but from my perspective they are very original. Mixing a little bit of surf and garage with punk energy, synthesizers, occasional Japanese instrumentation, and the kitchen sink, the many layers of sound work into manic brilliance. For a kick, track down the video of their song "I My Me Mine" from this album online, it's brilliant, too!
