Portable Cassette Player Recorder with Stand-Alone Microphone Converter to USB

Not worth it, unless you plan to modify it

The amount of noise from the mechanism that bleeds through into the recording is so bad to make it essentially unusable. I've never heard such a poor quality cassette recording, the noise level essentially drowns out most sounds. Buy a used device with a decent mechanism, these cheap modern knockoffs are horrible. That said, there is a lot of room inside the case for modifications and the electronics look very simple -- the system is powered via 5 volts, and there is an easy break out for line level and speaker signals. As a voice recorder or recorder of any kind, this machine is basically unusable though.
