Great value for tube sound
1 of 1 found this helpful I've got this model and the one with the compressor. They both work flawlessly and adds to the warmth of my acoustic guitar. It's pretty much turn-on-and-sound great with these devices. Unfortunately, my part of the world uses 220V and I had to purchase the wall warts from a UK dealer over eBay. There was no hassle and even with the extra cost of the AC adapters, these tube preamps are still fantastic value for money.

Affordable upgrade that improves performance beyond expectations.
For what you pay for, this unit has great value for money. Firstly, the quality is excellent. The parts are all hardy and fit well together in the instrument. The templates for the control cavity is a free download from Fishman's official website with plenty of details. Secondly, the inclusion of the microphone makes the amplified sound more like a real guitar. Do watch out for feedback as all mics in a box tend to do. The included notch filter knob makes arresting those feedback frequencies easy.

Plays great out of the box
The sound of this entry level model was so good out of the box. I'm truly impressed with how well it travelled half way around the world and still sounded great. Had to adjust the truss rod but just a little. I was planning to fit an under saddle pickup but thinking of using mics on this. It has a sound quality of a guitar made in the 70's. Not sure how Breedlove does it?
