The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks
I usually would give anything by author Sprark and excellent rating, but I found this book to be a bit odd, almost as if someone other than Mr. Sparks wrote it. It is a long, too long, story, and it does not take you where you want to go as quickly as the reader wants something to happen. I won't be re-reading this one, but I have all of my other N. Sparks titles!

    Good...but....
I have to say I enjoyed the book, loved the information given for those of us suffering from the evils of unhealthy bodies. The book does give you great suggestions and information for the everyday events that are not thought of when going through illness. The one and only one thing I did not like was the fact that we had to be reminded multiple times about how "blessed" the author is financially because of how much money Brett makes. Not all of us have millions to travel here and there to get treatment. Not everyone is "blessed" monetarily like that with millions and millions of dollars at hand. And, we know that if you have the money, you are able to get to any doctor you want. Those of us who are not "blessed" with millions have to be told by our insurance companies who and where we will be seen, and if we cannot come up with certain amounts of money, which the illness robs us of in one way or another, we cannot be seen by the top doctors in our area, or go across the country in private jets to one specialist after another. I do like the book and am keeping it for reference, as many places to email, write, and call are listed in there, which is much appreciated. I did write to the foundation of the author some time ago, and have never heard from them at all :( Oh well.

The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Neffenegger
This book starts out a bit disoriented, or maybe its just me since this author writes with such incredible, unique imagination. However, after about a quarter of the way into the book, I found myself so involved in the book I did not want to put it down! I have not finished it yet, but this is one that I highly recommend reading BEFORE seeing the movie, as some friends have said the movie is good, but somewhat confusing in parts. If you read the novel, then it will give you more of the time frame, even if the main character in the book is different ages in the same scene. Sounds confusing, right? It is, but that is what makes this title so enriching, and sucks you right into the story. If you loved the movie 'Somewhere In Time' which was a beautiful movie, this will more than likely appeal to you, only you must absolutely use your own imagination AND realization of the years between the two characters to "get" the book. Got this brand new book for a great price on ebay, highly rec. doing it that way as opposed to paying full price elsewhere. Book is my favorite size, the larger paperback, it is made of a wonderful texture of paper, and at this point, I just cannot say anything bad about this title, or the experience of buying it from Ebay. Thanks!
