like the idea, but ...
this tripod fits a niche. it's stable. it offers a lot of flexibility. it brings camera stability to awkward places. everything that is said about height, extension and horizontal or vertical photography tested true. i use mine with smartphone and a DSLR. when I bought it, I found areas of concern. make sure all adjustable knobs are tight. there is a screw below the base. tighten it often. the ball head fits on top of the vertical bar. the connection on mine was loose. the threads did not mesh. first, I wrapped the threads with masking tape for a snug connection. then, I super-glued the head to the vertical bar. problem solved, but I lost the ability to turn 360 degrees. no big deal. that option is not needed by me. otherwise, I am pleased. if you buy one, learn from my experience before you risk some valuable gear.

Excellent choice
Eight clips with Velcro straps. Holds and stretches your backdrop. Perfect for indoor or outdoor use. Slightly pricey, but you will get what you pay for.

This is one you'll like
Metal, but lightweight. It collapses to about 22 inches and fits into neoprene bag. Attach a strap and carry on your shoulder. All for under $20.
But the best is how it works. Snap a leg into place. Twist the base of the leg and pull. Twist to lock. Repeat up into 3 times on each leg. Attack the quick release plate to your camera. Thumb screw into place. Ball head rotates 360 degrees, or 90 degrees vertically. Attach a weight to the center pole for rock-solid stability.
The legs can even be reversed above the camera for unique shots. And one leg is removable to use as monopod. The tripod supports up to about 11-pound camera.
And did I say all for about $20?
