The name Garmin should be enough to give you confidence in their products
Lets start with Garmin. The Swiss GPS company purchased the map making company Delorne and Active Captain for Boaters. Do not begin with a 4" screen, the 5" is the minimum size; 6 would be better. If you are primarily looking for a GPS unit - go GARMIN. If you are primarily looking for a fishfinder - go to other companies who specialize. But for maps, stay with Garmin. The units are intuitive ( a word you will often see about Garmin), easy to use, and easy to operate. They have the greatest maps - the main ingredient for an outstanding GPS.
