Solo Stove Ranger Ultra Portable SSRAN-SD 15” Fire Pit smokeless stainless steel

A Fantastic Fire Pit/Stove.

The Solo Stove Design is really good. It involves secondary combustion in which gases that otherwise be discharged as smoke, are burned. This results in not only a hot fire, but really complete combustion. All thats ever left in our Solo Stoves (got two) is nothing more than ash. You can operate this stove on the grass or wood deck. I have used it on the lawn with no damage. The Ranger is a the best size in my opinion. Due to its dimensions, you get flames above the top where you can see them. The larger models tend to burn mostly below the top of the stove and so are not very "campfire like". This is a good size for home and RV. Once going, it will burn greenwood, but things with higher moisture content such as house cats, evangelical ministers and politicians, likely would not work well as fuel, unless you distilled them down to oil first.

This is the gaurd you want!

Accessories for the Himalayan are often mis-sized and/or do not line up with the various attachment points. This headlight guard ifts perfectly. There are no installation instructions, but its easy enough to figure out. Pay attention to how the brackets fit - if it doesn't line up or the guard is in the wrong position then you have the brackets in the wrong orientation. It took me all of 5 minutes to install it. Look carefully at the photos I have attached below - especially the side view to see the correct orientation. The brackets go on the outside of the windscreen.
