I can't for sure comment on recommendation, quality or value as I bought one of these sensors by mistake for the US region. Don't make the same mistake I did and check the frequency. As Ebay won't alow URLS in a review, just google 'z-wave frequency chart' to find out if they will work for you - I recommended the seller to explicitly inform that these devices are for the EU frequency bands only and will not work with a US z-wave hub.

You get what you pay for..
The unit does level out loud/soft sounds, however it unfortunately introduces a 60hz hum. I tried 3 different powersupplies with and without hum-filters to no avail. its not loud but its there, enough to be annoying Also, you should leave the power on permanently on this unit: As it boots up it generates a lot of static, which gradually fades away completely. However it doesnt sound nice at all. The switch in front does not power off the unit, it only bypasses the signal.
