Great value guitar from Guild

Excellent guitar for the money. Solidly built, plays really well and sounds pretty good for the money. The only disappointment is the tone pots which are nigh on useless. That said it is a cracking guitar for the money.

Gibson Les Paul Standard 2009 on Ice Tea Finish

Superb guitar from Gibson. It's made in 2009 but is classed as the 2008 model. The chambered mahogany body makes it lighter than usual but it still balances beautifully. The neck is very much like a 59 which feels great and plays superbly. The carved maple top is stunning. Ice Tea is a great finish. The only change I have made is that I swapped the Gibson Burstbucker Pro pickups for a Gibson 57 Classic in the neck and Classic Plus in the bridge which is a better sound for me. The bridge and tailpiece have Allen screws which tighten them to their posts so they don't drop off when you change strings which I find handy. All in all it's a cracking guitar which can be bought 2nd hand at reasonable price. A lot of people rubbish this model because it doesn't weigh a ton so it doesn't sound like a real Les Paul. Well I like having my discs intact and at the same time projecting a full bodied and expressive Les Paul sound through my 40 watt Marshall DSL401. Have you noticed that you don't see that many for sale on eBay. Enough said. Cheers
