1 of 1 found this helpful I purchased this machine lightly used but “fully functional”. Unfortunately, it is not fully functional.
Espresso brewing was as satisfactory as you’re going to get with a machine like this. The machine and parts are easy to use and clean. However, it is recommended to use 20-22g coffee for the 2 cup basket. I found this was too much and could not even secure the portafilter in the group head with that amount of grounds tamped in. I found that 15-16g was more appropriate.
The steam function did not work on my machine. It takes several minutes to begin steaming and by then the shot is cold. The steam just spits and sputters out and does not create a whirlpool motion in the milk. The steam shuts off before the milk is textured or warmed. I am very disappointed in the steam function on this machine.
I don’t know if these problems are due to a used machine, but despite this, I cannot recommend this machine.
