Accuracy at a Fair Price

Right out of the box, the calibration was correct. I compared it with a regular thermometer and the results were identical. Calibration adjustment is doable, but it's always nice to be able to avoid set-up annoyances.

Better Than You Might Expect

Reviews are mixed, suggesting that all units perhaps are not equal. My experience with two of these cameras has been very positive--with a caveat. Both cameras reacted poorly when a class 10 flash card was used. Recording stopped after about 50 minutes or so. A borrowed class 4 card produced better results--continuous recording without interruption. Picture quality has been excellent on both cameras, even with the class 10 card. The experience of others may be different, but with a class 4 card, all has been positive. I would not hesitate to purchase another, if the need arises. I would have no temptation to "move up" to a more expensive camera.

Different; Comprehensive

"Different," at least in my experience, in its ability to "project" a cursor onto the TV screen. This enables you to move from one function to another without stepping through a series of up and down arrows. "Comprehensive" because of its multiple functions. The remote is easy to use, but gains in utility as you discover more and more of what it can do. It's fun to explore on your own, but the manual is worth reading. At $49, the remote is not cheap. It is, however, worth the price. Standard with some LG TVs, but a separate purchase with the UH6550.
