Hoo Rah, Semper Fi, etc.
As a former military officer I love this engine! It's a Kato so I expected nothing less than excellence from it. But I especially appreciate the salute to all our services in the Union Pacific paint scheme. Check out YouTube and you can see the prototype 1943 in action!

Typical Bachman
Typical Bachman DCC. I've had several Bachman DC engines that ran fine. But the Bachman DCCs that preceded this one, and this RS3 can barely get out of their own way. Once it gets going it's not too bad. But when you tell it to go (in either direction) you might want to set the speed on 20 then go get lunch while you wait. I hope there is a CV value or two that will fix it but so far my search has been in vain. Unless I can make it run better, this is my last Bachman. The upside is that it looks good. That will work well if it eventually become a static display.
