Fantastic Esquire upgrade
I decided to try KD's wiring harness after using the "big" names (Emerson, etc), and I chose it because of the price and convenience (got here very quick!). You never know what to expect buying online from a particular seller for the very first time, so I waited with fingers crossed.
When it arrived a couple of days later, as soon as I opened the box, it was very well packed in bubble wrap - and as soon as I unwrapped it, I knew I had made a great choice, not to mention finding my "go to" harness guy!
Top notch components - CTS pots, Oak Grigsby switch all assembled neatly and professionally with push back wire, beautifully soldered together and ready to drop in. The only negative is that I had affix the pickup wires to this fabulous harness utilizing my "monkey soldering" technique!
Installation was a snap, and it performed flawlessly first time -absolutely no noise, and a nice variety of tonal options that were just as described in his listing. I've already contacted KD about my next project!
And about KD himself. Probably a month after I recieved the harness (I was waiting on Seymour Duncans custom shop) as I got ready to install everything, I realized the pickup, being a "stacked" single coil, had four wires instead of the normal two. I wasnt sure how to proceed, so I took a chance and contacted KD with my question. I assumed it would be at least a day for him to respond, but much to my surprise, he responded in less than 5 minutes with the info I needed to proceed, and could not have been more friendly and helpful. While this may seem insignificant to some, this is a huge deal to me-I know that whatever I buy from KD , I'll be able to count on his support.
I really hate to gush, but if you order from KD, you wont be disaappointed!

HEY-Where you been?
1 of 1 found this helpful I remember these, or ones very similar from the 80's (90's?) - Loved them then, and even moreso now. I love the "feel" of the material, nice, controlled volume swells with my pinky are a snap, and the fact that there is no need to measure the shaft, or determine if its solid or split, no set screws to fuss with is just icing on the cake. And in case your curious, they push on easily and hold very well-a plus for you "push-pull" coil splitting guys. Thanks knobeez - I'll be back for more!
