Last Verizon phone I will ever buy
2 of 2 found this helpful You are not required to purchase the data plan, but your representative may not be aware of this, so ask him or her to look into it. I have this phone on 3 out of 6 of my lines. Make sure you get version 6.1, earlier versions pale in comparison. You can upgrade yourself but it is a hassle and time consuming. The screen is easy to break, my first one broke after 2 months, so I will try to be more careful this time around.
The phone also has to be tweaked to not attempt to contact verizon's server constantly, its easy but if you don't do it you will either get charged data usage or will be constantly declining the message. Look online for instructions.
