Great for Your Gym Bag in a Cold Climate and Great for Travel
I prefer to use the Nexxus Mousse Plus Volumizing Foam because it has the consistency of whipped cream and it's easy to apply. The gel is much more dense but works fine as long as you use a very small amount and have time to work it into your hair. This is for my gym bag that I keep in the car. In the winter, the can of styling foam will freeze solid so I switch to the gel. Also, a small amount of the gel can put in a 3 oz. travel container, which you can't do with the foam. I think both are good values. I have short hair and for my needs, each of these lasts for 2 to 3 months.
