Navy guys nicknamed TBF the "Turkey." Easy to see why - this bird is REAL BIG and fun to assemble
3 of 3 found this helpful Nice authentic U. S. Navy Atlantic paint scheme with just the right amount of panel weathering. The little details on a kit this large are enjoyable to discover. Crew of 3 can be displayed outside of it or inside with a little adjustment - the parachute packs need to come off to fit them into the seats in the "greenhouse". Some have complained they can't figure how to get the gunner into the ball turret. I found that with a firm pinch on both of the turret's flat sides, it releases and comes up and off. Fit the gunner inside, another pinch, and the turret will sit back down in position. Dabs of plastic model cement needed to hold torpedo and rocket ordnance in place. Display this beast in flight, gear up, with torpedo bay opened or closed. Or alternately, park it gear down, on the deck, with wings spread or with one or both wings authentically folded back -- good for if you're trying to fit it on a narrow shelf or table top. Only complaint I have is that the folding wings do sag just a degree or two when fully extended. I may try to remedy this with a span of low-viz micro monofilament over the cowl and knotted taut through both wing tips.
