Very bright and small
This is a great versitle light. It has several light intensity settings that allow its use in many circumstances. The feature I liked most is its quick press-on high intensity light. It is very bright. I bought several of these to give to the girls in my family. Its small size and intense light could help in a difficult situation.

Technology has come a long way and this GPSr is a great value!
I have been using GPSr's for 20 years. The Magellan eXplorist has features we used to pay plenty for like detailed roads which include water ways and off-road trails. On a recent trip to Southern Utah this GPSr worked well and never lost the satellite constellations. The bread crumb trail downloaded and displayed in both ExpertGPS and Google Earth was dead on. The waypoints I saved were exactly where I'd expect them to be.
The display is hard to see in bright daylight but if you hold the display at just the right angle to the sun it is fine.
The battery life was good and lasted us for our whole one day trip. The battery compartment seems to be adequate and will likely last a long time if handled normally.
The unit is light and easy to carry. I found a permanent home for it in my camera bag. I recommend it as possibly the biggest bang for the buck if some shopping around and price comparisons are made.
The only con: the screen can be difficult to read at times.
