poor rings for heavy recoil has per Vortex no recommended
the scope ts great but the hunter mounting rings are not recommended for a 45-70 or for any gun with heavy recoil it should state that .i had to buy another set of pro rings. and yes i did call vortex about this. They did say those rings would work on many guns but not on any with heavy recoil

the unit works fine now should not had to make it it bigger as it said it was an xxxl size
shoulder straps are to short for a 200lbs man and a child that are fully dressed in a snowmobile suit. I had to put longer straps on it to make it work,
