Great starter knife
1 of 1 found this helpful They say first impressions are everything and if so, I'm going to love this knife a long time. Out of the box, I've got stones and strop ready to do the normal new knife routine to get it up to speed. Three minutes later, two knives were done, only thing needed was run the side of the blade along the strop to polish it a bit. I've bought a lot of knives in my lifetime and so far, this is the best blade from the factory.
I do have concerns about construction, but I'm not so dense to not know that plastics these days are tougher than ever before and used in industrial applications with outstanding results: therefore a hunting/camping knife handle should be fine.

Good for camping
Nice thick walled steel canteen and cup. Top is plastic but has a chain to hold it on and it's easily removable for boiling water in the fire

Not bad
Overall not a bad little four-in-hand file. Metal seems to be decent quality, filing surfaces in three of the four area are deep so they will last long. My only complaint is on the rounded edge file part. It looks like instead of a round stamp they used a flat stamp so there are some places it's not as deep and therefore won't bite as well into the surface being filed. If this was a normal file, I've be upset. But since the other the surfaces are well defined and I bought this mainly for flat filing, not that bothered. The rasp area on the rounded side is well defined so they just need some minor improvements in their process and this would be perfect.
