7 of 7 found this helpful I use my GPS to get bearing and distance to my destination in the woods hunting then use my compass to navigate with.
I take this compass, grind the sharp corners off, drill small hole for parachute cord. Insert, tie knot and on the other end of cord make a loop that lets me attach to belt loop in my pants and put compass in front pocket for convenience. The Brunton 7dnl is perfect size, easy to set heading and needle settles down quickly. I give it a 5 star.
