Decent low cost option vs name brand for
Decent value for the money when using Spektrum radio system. Gyro fairly easy to setup and understand. Setup on basic planes - typical throttle/aileron/elevator/rudder is straight forward. Self level feature does work ok but I have some issues overall with the way it operates.
You will loose channel 5 / gear select for the on/off feature to select no gyro, gyro only or gyro with auto level. In order to get that back it is then set to which mode you want permanently. When self level is on you have choice of "low rate" meaning mild banking and climb and descent or "high rate" which increases the banking and climb and descent angles. If you have 8 channel or more radio you can adjust overall gains on the fly otherwise ratio set at 1x multiplier. Both the channel 5/gear and channel 8 features are fixed in receiver and can not be assigned to other channels. Lastly when auto level on the system has a strong nose up action under power and nose down when basically dead stick power. Been very hard to find the midrange sweet spot where plane just flys level.
If you cope with these limits or use at just a receiver with gyro off it's just fine and you technically have 7 channels of usable output, keep in mind no telemetry on these either.
