IC requires advanced knowledge for successful use

This linear image sensor IC has good potential for a bunch of different light sensing applications. However, it is not for the fainthearted. Official Toshiba documentation is scant and difficult follow. There are several articles on Hack-a-day and other places that offer some insight. The user needs more than a surface knowledge of microcontrollers to control the device even once you figure it out. It is also quite delicate-- pins are very fragile.
