prepaid phones need $32 to activate before you can activate it on a monthly plan
nice new, inexpensive prepaid phone. the get it "unlocked" so that it works on a family plan, you need to pay $32 to first activate it as a prepaid phone (with a new phone number). Then, 5 minutes later, you can switch it to your monthly plan.
