packs a serious punch while being smooth
This unit has a lot of power for such a compact sub-woofer and integrates really well with my KEF EGG speakers. I got these results by using a simple trick when placing it in my room. When setting it up, I put the woofer in the place where I sit and had it play at moderate volume while I walked around kneeling and listening in every corner to hear where the bass was stronger. Once a corner was picked, I placed the subwoofer there. I have the volume on it at 2 dots on the dial out of 10 and sounds amazing. 38Hz is deep enough to rattle my couch in my 14X16' room, with plenty of overhead. Really nice product.
UPDATE: I purchased a Chord Mojo as an external DAC for my KEF EGGs and the woofer changed its character completely. It has more weight, depth, and nuances of bass that were non existent with the internal DAC of the speakers. When the bass has to be short and clean, it is short and clean, and when it has to be big and loud and filling ,it does just that. I cannot imagine what a REL subwoofer could do over this one ( I was debating to buy a REL T5i before buying this one).

it elevates the sound quality
pros: integrates well with my system and the sound is cleaner, has more depth and width, bass notes are deeper and better defined and high notes are airier. It is a good product at a competitive price.
cons: It has somewhat a V shape sound. The mids are a bit recessed but not by much.

HiFi sound on the cheap
1 of 1 found this helpful The headphones sound really good. They have a mellow tone to them without being slow in the way the reproduce the sound. They have a nicely pronounced mid-bass but not a lot of sub-base. They have a Grado like sound signature. The mids are well defined and sound natural and the highs are extended enough to keep things sounding good without being fatiguing. Out the box the clamping force is kind of strong but with some stretching of the band they become really comfortable. Build quality is solid, no cheap or flimsy materials used.
