Sony DVD 5 disc upgrade
1 of 1 found this helpful This is a great item for upgrading your home theater system. If you have an HD TV and you connect this player with an HDMI cable you will notice a difference. The disc resume feature works great if you pause one dvd and want to watch another disc in the tray you can go back to the first disc and it picks up right where you left off. The player displays a wall paper screen related to your movie when you stop playback on a dvd instead of a product pause screen like the word "sony" on your tv.
The 5 disc tray is great for loading up a tv series box set, a multi disc movie like extended versions of Lord of the Rings, Movie trilogies like Star Wars, Back to the Future, or the Bourne Collection and any DVD that comes with a second disc for extras. No more getting up after the show to put in the behind the sceans stuff or the next movie. And if you dont make it through your movie marathon, just stop wherever and when you are ready to lock in again the Sony Player remembers right where you left off and picks up the show as if you never stoped.
This player also gives you the ability to adjust the video image quality and the audio output to your tv so you can customize the perfect look and sound for your video experience. I spent a few minutes fiddeling with these options and I am now getting way better picture and sound from my LCD TV than with my old dvd player.
The only negative thing I would have to say about this dvd player is that it does seem to take a little too long to load and read DVDs the first time you put them in, and it takes up a bit more space than other players. But the space thing is because you can load 5 discs so its a give and take thing there.
I would not spend Hundreds of dollars on this player, but if you cant afford Blue Ray and you can scoop this puppy up used for less than $70.00 I would say you have made yourself a wise investment.

Easy to Program, Easy Control for 4 Devices
Even though this is an older model from the discontinued line, it still performs well and is supported online with the myharmony website. The online data-base easily enables relatively easy programing of multiple devices by means of a usb cable connection to your computer and the remote. If you can not find all of your commands or exact model in the data base, you can still manually assign the commands and buttons for any device.
Buttons are a bit on the small side so would not be helpful for elderly or poor vision application, but small size enables more buttons overall equating to multiple programable options for each of your controlled devices.
The look and feel of the remote is stylish, discrete, and comfortable in hand. Basic black without gaudy colors or wacky shaped buttons of random sizes. Battery compartment is easy to access but not so loose that it accidently opens. 2 double A batteries for power source is a welcome design vs more obscure or excessive quantities of other battery types.
Construction feels durable, able to withstand normal drops and accidental falls, but not super padded for pets or toddlers, this is an adult remote with many buttons and options.
Wish it could control 1 or 2 more devices, but handles 4 well. Have had this remote for 5 years and still performs flawlessly. Purchased another to upgrade second entertainment space because we have been pleased with units performance. If you have need for a universal remote that will control multiple devices and want to skip the manual "teaching" step of transferring each devices individual commands, this is a great option if you can find it for a reasonable price.

New Tansformers New Look
This movie is way better than I thought it would be. Special effects and sound are awsome. Sure they look different, sure the human characters are not from the orginal series, but its still a great real-life adaptation of this classic toy gone 80's cartoon hit. The acting, story, and script are way better than expected. If you grew up watching transformers as a kid, or if you just like sci-fi action movies this is a great watch. And the bounus disc on the special edition is packed with lots of cool extra stuff. Not just some movie trailers and audio commentary, like some "special features" discs are.
