Vanity Fair - Original Soundtrack (CD 2004)
The Vanity Fair soundtrack, exquisitely composed by Canadian composer Mychael Danna is sublime, is a treat, is music that I cannot stop listening to! This composer designs music to describe the characters in this film in a way that sets each one in a loving embrace of musical notes. I was entranced by the music when I saw the film in the theater and sometime afterward saw the film on television and HURRIED to purchase the soundtrack. If you like the Romantic Period of music, literature and poetry then you will be drawn into this music. There are classical sounds together with segments of dreamy English female vocals, entwined together by sounds of the harp. Can you imagine listening to Lord Byron's poem, "She Walks in Beauty" set to etherially spectacular music? It's in this CD! Even if you did not see the film, you would still be able to deeply enjoy the soundtrack because each segment seems connected by invisible strands of magical silk. Wow! There are two segments which are styles of the Far East and extremely enjoyable to listen to, if the listener has seen the film, these segments are especially enjoyable. BUY IT, BUY IT, BUY IT -- you won't be sorry. I actually purchased two, one for my car and one for home.

Glad I bought the Frankie Laline CD
Great recordings of Frankie Laine -- it is a mix of his western themes and the others. Enjoying it very much --

Being Julia
3 of 3 found this helpful "Being Julia" is more than delightful -- it is a delicious account of a beautiful actress circa 1938 London. We feel as if we are looking through a magical telescope into those days before the earthrattling events of World War Two, when the days were sunny and people were laughing and could live life. Especially theater life! Lived by the actors who live on life -- this is a view of one group of actors, with their joys and hopes, who move about their lives on and off stage in London before it was crashe by German bombs. You will love the film if you love life! You will love the music as much as the film -- Mychael Danna is a genious at musical composition. N. Battaglia
