Perfect for my needs as a student, frugal cost used book.
Even though this edition is a couple of revisions behind, it has all of the content that I wanted for use in my studies. Will be handy for Model UN and other negotiation activities related to activities that I plan to pursue.
The copy that I bought is a "used" library book, however it is in GREAT condition and I actually like the clear acetate protector cover that was added for library application.

Such a compelling discussion, well researched and a fantastic story, very believable that these chess pieces are Icelandic.
With all of the documented evidence and directly from Icelandic translations of the various Sagas and the actual archaeological evidence this book gives a very compelling argument for the actual place of creation for these world famous art pieces being Iceland. I picked this book up as a book club project, expecting a dull read...I was happily surprised to find a compelling story and backing historical/archaeological evidence presented in a most interesting way by this highly talented author. I will absolutely recommend this book.
