So far so good.
1 of 1 found this helpful To clarify; this unit is/will be installed on a boat. At the moment, I simply set the unit on the cabin deck. It immediately picked up the signal via the on-screen scan menu. In the slip, we had some very strong winds whereby the boat moved around in the slip and caused the signal to drop out momentarily but would come back as soon as the boat settled. I adjusted a few lines to stabilize the boat and it helped a lot. Keep in mind, this unit is NOT the $4-$5K marine versions out there. It does NOT track a satellite like those units. However, for the price we're very satisfied. We never watch TV while underway so a tracking unit isn't necessary for us. My next project is moving the unit to a pole installed on the flybridge. I am fabricating my own mounting system for it. Keeping my fingers crossed that no part of the arch or frame blocks the signal, but I already had a Directv dish mounted and kept the signal with no problems. What I switched for was the pay-as-you-go feature. Meaning I can have the unit turned off when not in use and activated when needed (broken down in 30 day increments). I also purchased the OTA adapter via Dish On The Go and we can receive local channels. In that regard, the "new" digital television signals get an "ok" rating only from me. I'm in a major city marina, so you'd expect the signals would be strong but I guess that depends on where the transmitter is located I assume. One of the major channels (FOX) drops out big time. But all-in-all, we happy at the moment and hope that doesn't change.
