Good read but dated study of Hamburg bombings WW2
This is now quite an old book first published in 1959 only 16 years after the raids on Hamburg. I can remember loaning my copy to a teacher in the early 1970s and never saw it again.
Martin Caidin is a good writer, although his florid, partisan style is unfashionable. Martin Middlebrook's much later book the Battle of Hamburg is less partisan and has the benefit of 20 more years of documents and research.
