GRGM21MWNS Ibanez Kid's Children Mikro 3/4 Size Electric Guitar Walnut Sunburst
    May 18, 2017
    Short Scale, Tall Value
Very usable little guitar. I bought the walnut sunburst. Nice looking guitar advertised as a child's instrument but it is really very playable. It has the Ibanez Powersound pickups but they actually sound very decent. The body wood is apparently poplar and seems to have a good tone, I've read it is poor man's alder because it has similar tone and I'd agree. The neck is maple with a maple fretboard which looks good, the frets are finished pretty well. The tuners are cheap but seen to hold tune well. It is string thru and has good sustain as a result. I have not pulled the pick guard but I would imagine the pots are dime size, but they do have good range. I wish a tortoise pick guard was available. It is good as is but would be a nice platform to build on. Many look as these as toys but they are not. Check out Paul Gilbert's video in which he says he uses his signature model Mikro on tour with only 3 strings all tuned to E, fantastic!!! And speaking of strings, the ones that come on it are pretty cruddy. Everything else was good with very little tweaking. This is the second one I've owned and bought this one because I missed the one I sold. These are keepers. Cheap enough that you can upgrade them if you want without breaking the bank and good enough that you don't have to. Check 'em out!!!

    A good listen!
Good mix of his music and a good sampling of his guitar playing not only for his long-time listeners but especially for those wishing to sample his style of blues. A good buy for less than $10 shipped for non-distorted electric guitar lovers.

    A good watch
This is a rung or two above your better sci-fi B-movies and had the potential, with a better scipt and larger budget, to have been a very good science fiction creature flick. While the acting, in some scenes, is somewhat sub-standard, for the most part it is interesting and remains so mainly due to Carla Gugino's portrayal of her character Lilly. In fact, her performance raised the overall rating She Creature 1-star on it's own merit. It does suffer, however, from the lack of available funding, which is apparent from the beginning, such as in the opening scene. The digitally generated ocean waves on the rocky shoreline with a digital looking picture of an old mansion in the background is unmistakable. The film is almost entirely set on an old wooden sailing ship and while the set could have been worse it also could have been better. Also the computer generated creature at the end of the film is a little on the cheesey side. They should have stuck with Hannah Sim (below) with a good creature make-up artist. It does contain some nudity so perhaps not good for the kids, which is almost if not all, entirely of Hannah Sim as the Queen of the Lair and principal mermaid/monster. She had a bit part in "I Am Legend", incidentally. I don't remember any real language issues but it does have the standard creature/sci-fi violence. All-in-all it is worth the viewing and owning for an occasional later play. It's entertaining enough. Again, the cast is good, the script is a little weak, the acting better than the script, suffers mainly from a low budget, but still worth it.
