Ego Power+ 56V String Trimmer Kit 15'' With Rapid Reload & Split Shaft Certif...

Surges and gouges lawn, heavy, cumbersome, line constanly breaks inside spool, difficult to remove spool without tool, hard to load line,
I've been using gas, electric, and cordless string trimmers since they were invented and this is the worst one I"ve ever tried to use. I bought it to replace a black & decker 40v trimmer which lasted 8 years. First, it is heavy. This is a problem when the line keeps breaking off inside of the spool head. Unlike my old trimmer, where I'd just keep a spare spool of line in my pocket for a 10 second swap wherever I ran out of line, with ego I could see no way to get the line out without removing the spool. There are two "thumb latches" that release the spool, but they take more pressure than my 59 year old hands could exert standing in the hot sun out by my mailbox. Probably about 40 pounds or so, I ended up using a screwdriver after dragging the cumbersome beast of a trimmer all the way back to the house not once but three times in the 94 degree Florida heat. And what a horrific way to have to load line. Hope you have a cool climate if you have to do it on the go. Also, the brushless motor controller seems to irritatingly apply extra power to maintain rpm under load, causing the machine to unexpectedly surge and want to "run away" from the user resulting in gouged unsighly lawn and decapitated perrennials. I've worked in many trades with a variety of tools, including many cordless and this is one of the worst I've encountered. Makes me really suspicious of where all the glowing review come from.
