Back of Your Mind

Old style country with a little updating

I believe that I have four CDs now by the Domino Kings. I ran across this band by accident but have come to like a lot of their music. "The Back of Your Mind" is probably one of their better releases. The Back of Your Mind, Hard Thing to Know and No More Trying are my favorites off this CD, along with their remake of Wine Me Up. There is none of the slick schlock that passes for country music today on this disc--it has fiddle, steel guitar, rockabilly and retro country music. I like the fact that this band doesn't sound like everything else that comes out of Nashville today, where if you hear one singer, you have heard every one of them, including those who win CMAs. Yes, the CD was released in 2002, but I think it's great to run across music like this, since it seems no one is making it any more. If you like old-school country, you will not be disappointed with this CD, or with The Domino Kings, for that matter.

Briggs & Stratton Genuine OEM 491588S Flat Air Filter Cartridge (2 Pack)

B&S OEM air filter

I purchased this filter for my Lawnboy self-propelled lawnmower with a Briggs and Stratton engine. The filter is an exact replacement, although it does not have a pre-filter (available separately or in a filter combo). These OEM filters seem to be made somewhat better than the numerous Chinese knockoffs that are available. The blue rubber around the filter element is precisely molded and does not spill out over the paper element itself. I'm not sure where the B&S filters are made, since I bought two that were shipped in bulk packaging. They could be Chinese; I hope not. All in all, this filter works as intended, it was a good value and it is B&S OEM. That's good enough for me.

6 Bags for HOOVER Spirit Canister Vacuum TYPE K

Good--not great--quality

I got these bags for a Hoover Type K (Spirit) vacuum cleaner. While they serve the purpose for which they are intended, these bags are not the same quality as some older EnviroCare vacuum bags I have. The paper material is thinner than the bags of old. This will no doubt mean more dust escaping into the air. The bags themselves are designed in the USA but made in China. Hoover brand name bags would probably be a better deal. However, for my purposes, these EnviroCare bags will work. The price was great, and they aren't bad bags, just not great. They do their job fairly well, and unless you require an allergen-free environment, they should work for you, too.
